With a Relative Uncertainty
Between 2014 and 2017 I have created With a Relative Uncertainty, a visual arts project following the process of redefinition of the kilogram prototype.
Despite establishing the measurements of mass for the entire planet, the kilogram has been, since the 19th century, a single physical object. The need for a new, abstract definition has been the ultimate challenge for scientists across several laboratories over the world.
To realise the project I have established an international network of collaboration with national scientific institutions and contemporary art centres, leading to the creation of a broad body of works, including film, installation, text and performance.

The project has been developed in collaboration with DFM – Danmarks Nationale Metrologiinsitut, NPL – National Physical Laboratory, DTU – Technical University of Denmark and IT University of Copenhagen.
Produced works have been hosted by South London Gallery, VISIO – European Workshop on Artists’ Moving Images, Atelier Hotel Pro Forma, Centrale Fies, Galleria Giorgio Galotti, Cité internationale des arts de Paris.
